This unique dinnerware pattern has its roots in Ancient Greece but splashes of rich cobalt blue take the Atlanta collection from classic to contemporary. This single place setting includes a 10-inch dinner plate, an 8-inch salad/dessert plate, a 6-1/4-inch side plate, a 5-3/4-inch tea saucer, and a tea cup. All pieces feature cloudy blue-and-white borders imprinted with the Greek key design in silver. Platinum edging and trim complements the blue tones and creates a beautiful palette on which to serve a formal meal. Atlanta dinnerware is made of bone china--fine china that has had bone ash added to the clay to produce a true white color--which is considered the strongest and most prestigious type due to its eighteenth century English origins. This place setting is also made in the Langdale shape, a vintage dinnerware style with smooth, clean lines introduced by and used to describe many of Royal Doulton's china patterns. All pieces are safe for light warming (up to 100 degrees Celsius) in the oven and for the dishwasher at low temperatures to avoid harming the platinum trim. Beautiful china with bright blue and silver trim June 14, 2007

My husband and I originally received 4 sets of this from Hudsons/ Marshall Fields/ Macys for our wedding in 2004, and couldn't pass up the great deal on Amazon for about 1/3 the price our guests bought it for! We've used it at least a dozen times and always get complements on the beautiful blue color and silver key pattern on the plate (it has sliver trim around edges as well).
Anyway, although it says dishwasher safe on the back of the plate, we wash them by hand. Also, due the the silver design, we do not use them in the microwave, either. I have put the plates in the oven on warm, and they've been fine. After 3 years they still look brand new. Utensils and knives have not scratched the surface at all.
The only thing I don't like is the dinenr plate is very flat, so if you have something juicy on it (think turkey with gravy), and it is near the edge of the plate, you are most likely going to have a little mess on the tablecloth.
I would definitely recommend this product to someone looking for beautiful formal china.
