Product Description Subtle concentric rings and sleek modern shapes combine in this beautiful dinnerware collection. From morning to evening, each piece brings a generous helping of style to the table.
Amazon.com Review Winner of a 2002 international design award, Loft dinnerware epitomizes an urban, modern lifestyle with its clean, all-white forms. The German-made porcelain is kept elegantly spare except for a subtle pattern of fine concentric circles that feels pleasing to the touch. While the Loft collection encompasses both round and square shapes for mix-and-match individuality, this particular 16-piece starter set contains just the round. Included are four place settings, each of which consists of the following: an 11-inch dinner plate, an 8-1/2-inch salad plate, a 9-1/2-inch coupe-style soup bowl, and a straight-sided mug. Rosenthal, long one of Germany's most prestigious porcelain manufacturers, produces dinnerware that graces the tables of outstanding hotels and restaurants worldwide. Loft was created by the Queensbury-Hunt Design Group for the Thomas brand that falls under Rosenthal's umbrella. Loft works equally well for an impromptu brunch or a celebratory dinner party and is safe for both the dishwasher and microwave. Handsomely boxed, the set is eminently suitable as a gift for the design-savvy friend or relative setting up a new kitchen or desiring a new tabletop look. A wide range of accessory pieces is available separately. --Ann Bieri What's in the Box 4 place settings. Each place setting consists of: dinner plate; salad plate; soup bowl; mug. 16 pieces total.

Modern, Classic Design with Slight Imperfections May 27, 2008 K.S. (WA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I agree with the other user that utensils do tend to slide off the edges of the plates and bowls. I can get used to this. And, the mugs are a bit small for my taste in comparison to the oversized look of the plates and bowls. However, I don't think these two imperfections--if you could even call them that--warrant this to be a four-star item. This set is high-quality, high design, and just fine for everyday use. I am overall very pleased with this set and will order any replacements if needed. FYI: this item was also solidly packed when shipped. No breakage here.
These plates are gorgeous December 15, 2008 vobsister 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love these plates. From a distance, they look like simple, plain white plates, but up close, they have a subtle ring pattern which is slightly hypnotic and kind of makes you feel like you're looking into the center of the universe (well, at least, it does me). I'm really glad I chose this pattern. These plates make me happy every time I look at them.
Broke my first plate in years, and never been so sad March 24, 2009 Geoff In SF (San Francisco) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You see, the plates I have are the loft circle...same as this set, but the concentric rings (that one reviewer described below) go from nothing in the center to a more substantial and colorful ring patter around the outside, and they are a light green sea foamish color, not white. You can find these on replacements.com, but they dont have any of the size I broke. And they dont make them apparently, since they arent on Amazon.com -- Grrrr.
All that aside, you will love this pattern even more when you see it. It's less interesting in my opinion, more classic, than the loft circle I have, but the plates are very sturdy, really quite striking up close, and are extremely chip resistant and durable. Just be careful if you have a ceramic sink. I learned the hard way.
Loft china July 26, 2010 Tim Devlin Received quickly and in perfect condition. We've been using it daily for a couple weeks now and love it. The big plates fit in our Bosch dishwasher with no problem. This seems to have been a concern for some. Another reviewer stated they were hard to clean. We have not noticed anydifficulty there.
Love the china January 4, 2006 M. Retzlaff (Sweden) 24 out of 25 found this review helpful
I've sently purchased 3 boxes of the Loft china. I love it, it's a good classic design. But beware that the bigger plates might not fit your dishwasher or your cubords. It didn't fit our normal cuboards in our case. Luckly we could free up some space in our corner cabinet. But when you're having a dinner for a few people I'm sure you'd prefer if they fit in the dishwasher. So measure first, and maybe consider buying the pieces separatly so that you can choose a smaller since on the dinner plates.
